What kind of resources can I contribute to the e-Learning repository?
You can contribute 3 main types of resources
- Single Files - this could include a single word document such as a lesson plan, a Power Point presentation, image, video/audio clips or even a web page.
- Content Packages – This includes IMS and SCORM compliant packages. The purpose of a content package is that resources can be easily exchanged and moved between programs, facilitating easier delivery, reuse and sharing of materials. To provide high quality learning resources, all content in the e-Learning repository is subject to a quality assurance process. Resources accepted for the repository undergo a defined resource workflow before they are published for users.
A Quality assurance checklist has been designed to assist contributors and cataloguers in evaluating learning objects/ resources and online courses before they upload and publish resources within the e-Learning repository. It is the responsibility of both the contributor and the cataloguer to perform Quality assurance as per the criteria defined in the checklist.

We already have got a learning management system to host our e-Learning materials. Why do we contribute to the e-Learning repository?
The e-Learning respository offers a channel for the e-Learning network to publicise and to share their works. It helps raise awareness to e-Learning objects that already exists and which take a great deal of valuable time and effort to develop, and also allows sharing of good practices. It also reduces duplication of efforts within the NHS.
Learning and CPD area within the Knowledge Network supports easy discovery and reuse of e-Learning resources and help keeps content development and/or procurement costs down.
