Training
NHS Education for Scotland, Knowledge Services Group are now offering free online training sessions on The Knowledge Network and Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS). These sessions will be suitable for those who are new to The Knowledge Network or for those who wish to refresh their skills.
To participate in any of these sessions you will need a computer with Internet access and a telephone.
Please note, you will also be required to install webex software. You can test whether webex works on your computer by going to http://www.webex.co.uk/lp/jointest-uk and logging in with your name and email address. If successful you will see the message ‘Join Meeting Test Successful’. If not check with your IT department as to whether they can install this for you.
You are welcome to use our Online training flyer to promote these sessions locally.
Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS) are also currently offering some face-to-face sessions on The Learning Disabilites and Care for the Older People portals.

1The Knowledge Network
The following sessions are now available
Point of care resources on The Knowledge Network
This session will show you the resources available through The Knowledge Network that provide you with access to summarised, validated clinical evidence and guidance. This will include subscription services like Dynamed, plus targeted clinical decision support available on mobile devices and your PC.

Searching The Knowledge Network and accessing journals
This session will cover searching The Knowledge Network with a focus on searching for journal titles and articles. The session will also explore managing search results using filters and organising favourite resources.

Keeping Up To Date
This session is a follow up to the 'Searching The Knowledge Network' this session will focus on managing new information. The session will showcase services to support this, including managing favourite resources within The Knowledge Network, table of content and article alert services, feeds, reference management services using RefWorks, current awareness services and saved searches.
